The i4pd studio is located at the foot of the Pentland Hills on the southern side of Edinburgh (20 minutes from the city centre and major rail/airport connections). The studio is a converted stone farmstead and is situated within the stunning green landscape of the Mortonhall Estate.

i4pd is an employee owned product design and development consultancy. The firm is an established brand in Scotland with an excellent reputation for giving small and large businesses alike the competitive edge by bringing new or improved products to market. The company employs creative designers and experienced engineers who operate out of i4pd’s studio on the south side of Edinburgh. The team work collaboratively with clients to augmenting their internal capabilities and availability. Principal Design Engineer

A rare opportunity has arisen within i4pd's mechanical design team. You will be joining as a Principal Design Engineer and be part of a dynamic, growing design consultancy.

You will play an important role in our leadership team with outstanding technical skills, and are a problem solver who is able to inspire, direct, engage and develop design engineers on a variety of projects. As a technical lead on projects, you will be responsible for developing creative solutions to challenging problems associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our clients’ products. As a design partner to our clients and champion of their customers, we seek someone who will bring enthusiasm and passion to the product development process and will have a direct impact on the commercial success of their products.

Electronics Design Engineer (x3)

Web Developer (x2)

POSITIONS ARE NOW FILLED

We have a new (6 month) position for a Web Developer for an exciting project that will be commencing on the 1st of April. You will be responsible for implementation of a suite of web front-ends which will gather requirements and design data from the end-user, interface with back-end services provided by our partners on this project, and present results and information.

You are a Front-End Web developer with a 2+ year track record. You are a highly motivated individual who is able to work as part of a small multi-disciplinary team. Although you are very likely used to working in an Agile development environment you are happy to work in an environment that is expecting fixed costs and fixed timescales, and you can explain the trade-offs that will be involved. You are able to speak with clients and non-technical stakeholders to understand their requirements and explain technical concepts. You always document your designs to a high level of quality and have worked on rapidly developing and live customer facing web sites.
