Drive Train Guards

Background

Health and Safety required that all exposed rotating parts be covered - from turbine nose cone to high speed gearboxes. The guards had to be designed so that they are easily transported to the turbine nacelle.

Approach & Result

i4pd conducted an on-site survey, determining fit and accessibility in what is a fairly restricted space. We designed a kit of parts which could be retrofitted on-site and transported via the tower lift.  Our company has an established vendor network and through this we established supply chain, procured, packed and shipped kits to site.
