A London to Edinburgh Cycle is a sure fire way to add some interest to the return leg of a business trip.

Hello, I'm Ross, i4PD's resident Graphic Designer and Marketing Executive. This post makes sense be told 1st person. Not just because my face is plastered all over it. It also helps to guide you along on the journey with me, and talk through a trip I've always had circled on the map. It wasn't easy to connect the two great (and very different) capital cities under human power, but what fun would that have been?
The mission stemmed from a trip down to London for Hardware Pioneers. It's a fantastic hardware and electronics focussed exhibition, meticulously planned by the organisers. We've exhibited there for 6 years, and it's for one simple reason. Year in, year out, there is a fantastic depth and quality in the attendees and exhibitors. 2026 was no different.
This cycling adventure was born on a cold November morning, wind and rain lashing off the Velux windows above our studio mezzanine - I was beginning to organise our 2026 Hardware Pioneers campaign. Sad to see the end of long summer days, and with the romantic vision of a big adventure brewing, I logged onto LNER:
Outward Tickets EDI to Kings Cross: x3
Return Tickets Kings Cross to EDI: ... x3 ... x2 ... x3 ... x2 ... ... ... 'Pay now'
It didn't take too much convincing from my internal monologue to book one less return ticket. In hindsight, I was just lusting for a summers day again! Well... locked in now.
I tell the story below through visuals and commentary. It's up there with my favourite adventures yet. If you're interested in the Strava details and data (I tell more of the story there), the rides are linked at the bottom of the page.
